Progression

There is a lot of talk about the "goods" and "bads" of technology.  People like to demonize, or make technology the scape goat for societies problems.  I am of a differing opinion; I believe that technology can be only good for those who wish it to be.  Technology will be only bad for those who are looking for trouble and seeking for bad things.  Technology, in particular, the computer, has opened up a vast world of possibilities.  It hasn't marginalized the individual, but rather empowered.  Technology has made it possible for people to follow their dreams.  Small businesses are now able to act bigger than they are using social media and online marketing.  Those who would other wise never get a publishing deal for a book, have become hugely popular because of their blog.  Even a young parents not knowing how to fix their washing machine can Google it and get step by step instructions.  Whether it's blogs, videos, or video games, technology has allowed people to take their interests they love and turn them into professions.  Whether or not there is a moral obligation to use those mediums for good or for bad is an entirely different issue.

  1. It reminds me of the saying that "guns don't kill people, people kill people." Technology is simple a means to an end. Whether that end is good or not, like you stated, is an entirely different question.

  2. Interestingly this goes well with the idea that there are optimists and pessimists in the world, looking for the good or the bad within each new product. Headlines can attest that each new development in the technological world cause sharp differences in opinions.

By the way, Awesome name for the blog.
